This Privacy Policy describes how the 2026 Dads Invitational ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the dadopen.com web application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

  • Account Information: Name, username (F3 nickname), and password for authentication purposes.
  • Contact Information: Phone number (for SMS notifications, if you opt in).
  • Golf Data: Scores, handicaps, team assignments, and pairings related to the event.
  • Financial Data: Expense entries and payment tracking information for trip cost splitting.
  • Usage Data: Basic analytics about how you interact with the App (pages visited, features used).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To manage event logistics, scoring, and team assignments.
  • To send SMS notifications about event updates, score alerts, and important announcements (with your explicit consent).
  • To track and split shared expenses among participants.
  • To display player profiles, handicaps, and scores within the App.

4. SMS Communications

If you opt in to SMS notifications, you will receive text messages related to the 2026 Dads Invitational event. These may include score alerts, hole-in-one notifications, lead changes, and event announcements. Message frequency varies during the event (estimated 5–15 messages per event day). Message and data rates may apply.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your data may be shared with:

  • Twilio: Phone numbers of opted-in users are shared with Twilio for SMS delivery.
  • Event Participants: Scores, handicaps, team assignments, and player profiles are visible to all authenticated users.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on a secured server hosted by Digital Ocean. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

Account data and event records are retained for the duration of the event and up to 12 months after the event concludes (April 27, 2026) for record-keeping and expense settlement purposes. After that period, data may be deleted.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to our record-keeping obligations).
  • Opt out of SMS communications at any time.
